Regent

The grape

"Regent is a blue hybrid grape from Germany. It is the result of a cross between a grape that has silvaner x müller-thurgau as parents and the grape chambourcin (in turn a hybrid). The cross was made in 1967 at the Institute for Vine Breeding, Geilweilerhof , Siebeldingen. The wines are usually full-bodied and have a soft tannin structure. The acidity is usually high, and if the grapes are not picked in time, they can give a lot of sugar, which can also lead to the wines having a high alcohol content. red currants and other red berries and aromatic herbs." We grow Regent at Sydkustens at Pillehill.
